General description

Fibroblast Growth Medium Kit

Application

The Fibroblast Growth Medium is optimized for the cultivation of neonatal and juvenile fibroblasts. The medium is optimized for primary human cells, but can also be used for bovine, porcine, and rat fibroblasts as well as fibroblast cell lines. Recommended for: Normal Human Dermal Fibroblasts (NHDF), juvenile foreskin.

Components

Part of a Cell Culture System offered in a variety of formats: Growth Medium (Ready-to-use): Includes Basal Medium and Supplement Mix. The Growth Medium Kit: Includes Basal Medium and Supplement Pack. The Supplement Mix: Contains all media supplements premixed in one vial. The Supplement Pack: Contains all media supplements as individual vials. While the supplements of the Fibroblast Growth Medium are serum-free, the Basal Medium is manufactured with 0.5% serum.

Quality

All lots of PromoCell Fibroblast Growth Medium are subjected to comprehensive quality control tests using primary human fibroblasts. Each lot is checked for growth promoting activity, adherence rate, and typical morphology of the tested fibroblasts. Approved in-house lots of media are used as a reference. In addition, all lots of media have been tested for the absence of microbial contaminants (fungi, bacteria, mycoplasma).

Preparation Note

Final supplement concentrations after addition to the basal medium:Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor (recombinant human): 1 ng / ml Insulin: 5 µg / ml

Storage and Stability

Store the Basal Medium at 4 to 8°C in the dark and the SupplementMix or SupplementPack at -20°C immediately after arrival. Do not freeze the Basal Medium. If stored properly, the products are stable until the expiry date stated on the label. After adding the supplements to the Basal Medium, the shelf life of the complete medium is 6 weeks at 4 to 8°C. Do not freeze the complete medium. For use, pre-warm only an aliquot of the complete medium and keep the remaining medium refrigerated at 4 to 8°C.
