General description

Methaqualone is a sedative-hypnotic and a central nervous system depressant sold under the trade name Quaalude for treatment of insomnia. Methaqualone also has a history of abuse, known by street names such as Disco biscuits, Lemmons, and 714s. This certified solution standard is applicable for use as starting material in calibrators or controls for a variety of LC/MS or GC/MS applications from urine drug testing to forensic analysis and clinical toxicology.

Application

  • Pharmacokinetic studies: The analysis of Methaqualone in pharmacokinetic research employs liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry, crucial for understanding its metabolism and excretion patterns. Such studies are vital for developing safety profiles and therapeutic guidelines for sedative-hypnotics (Yun et al., 2007).
