General description

Glycerol, also known as Glycerin, is a sugar alcohol. It is a viscous liquid that is odorless, colorless, and hygroscopic in nature. It is highly soluble in water and can also react with aldehydes, ketones, acetic acid, methyl, and ethyl acetates forming acetals, cetals, and glycerine acetates. It finds numerous applications in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic sectors.
