General description

Lenacil is a pre- and post-emergence herbicide used primarily in suger beet crops to control Capsella bursa-pastoris, Lamium amplexicaule, Veronica persica, Anthemis arvensis, Viola arvensis, Polygonum convolvulus, Brassica napus, Papaver rhoeas and Chenopodium album, which acts by inhibiting photosynthesis.

Application

Lenacil may be used as a reference standard for the determination of the analyte:
  • In water sample by the application of planar chromatography with diode array scanning (TLC-DAD) and high-performance chromatography with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD).
  • In dry matrices such as cereal grain and certain feeding stuffs by gas chromatography/triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometry (GC–MS/MS).
