Pinoxaden Metabolite SYN502836 is formed as a metabolite of the new class of phenylpyrazoline herbicides, pinoxaden in plants. It impedes the activity of acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase) and prevents fatty acid biosynthesis.
As per Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009, repealing directive 91/414/EEC, pinoxaden is approved for use in the European Union (EU) as a plant protection agent.
The EU has proposed to change the residue definition of pinoxaden in the draft regulation SANTE/10776/2021. Based on the results of a metabolism study conducted in primary and rotational crops, the residue definition of pinoxaden for risk assessment is now proposed to be measured as a sum of pinoxaden metabolites ― M4 (SYN 505164) and M6 (SYN 502836), in both free and conjugated forms.

Application

The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
