General description

Rosiridin, an acyclic monoterpenoid, is a natural compound commonly found in Rhodiola rosea and Rhodiola sachalinensis plants. Current research indicates that this plant-derived metabolite may possess various biological activities, including cardioprotective and neuroprotective properties.

Application

Rosiridin is a natural product derived from plant source that finds application in compound screening libraries, metabolomics, phytochemical, and pharmaceutical research.

Biochem/physiol Actions

In vitro experiments revealed that Rosiridin possesses inhibitory properties against both monoamine oxidases A and B, suggesting its potential therapeutic utility in addressing conditions such as depression and Alzheimer′s disease. Notably, Rosiridin demonstrated a substantial inhibitory effect on MAO B, with an 83.8% inhibition rate at a concentration of 10 μM (pIC50=5.38).
