Application

Glucose oxidase/peroxidase reagent along with O-Dianisidine was used for the determination of blood and urinary glucose, especially the presence of fructose for both research and clinical purpose.[1] It may be used for determining glucose in plasma or serum.[2] It may also be used in the estimation of blood glucose as a function of the oxidative coupling system or of the oxygen affinity of the oxygen acceptor chromogen.[3]

Pgr5 proteins play a major direct role in cyclic electron flow paths in plants and eukaryotic phytoplankton. The genomes of many cyanobacterial species code for Pgr5-like proteins but their function is still uncertain. Here, we present evidence that supports a

Questions

1–8 of 8 Questions
  1. Which solvent and how many milliliters should be used to dissolve one capsule of the G3660 product?

    1 answer
    1. This item is formulated for use with the Glucose Assay Kit GAGO20 and the Starch Assay Kit STA20. Each capsule contains 500 units of glucose oxidase and 100 units of peroxidase with buffer salts. The contents of the capsule are reconstituted in 39.2 mL of deionized water. Please see the link below to review the entire protocol for the GAGO20 kit:

  2. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1 answer
    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. For more information, please refer to the Storage and Transport Conditions document: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/marketing/global/documents/316/622/storage-transport-conditions-mk.pdf

  3. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1 answer
    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  4. Is the Glucose oxidase and peroxidase linked to each other? or are they present individually/separately in the lyophilized tablets?

    1 answer
    1. Each capsule contains 500 units of glucose oxidase (Aspergillus niger), 100 purpurogallin units of peroxidase (horseradish), and buffer salts.
The enzymes are not conjugated or linked in any way and function independently in the reaction.

Please see the link below to review the kit technical bulletin which includes the specific chemical reaction:
