General description

Sodium chloride is a vital nutrient that aids normal body functions in humans and animals. This chemical is commonly found in nature with a wide variety of biochemical applications, like intravenous fluids and density gradients. It is also used as a diluent to increase ionic strength in buffers or culture media. Sodium chloride is crucial for maintaining plasma osmolality and the extracellular fluid volume of the body. Excess NaCl leads to increased blood pressure, which has implications for cardiovascular and renal diseases. Sterile NaCl is a component of eye drop solutions. Traditionally, it has been used in high concentrations to preserve food since most bacteria cannot grow in high-salt conditions.

Application

Sodium chloride solution has been used as a component of:
  • polyethylene glycol (PEG) buffer for the purification of double-tagged products
  • NT2 buffer for the preparation of antibody-coated Protein A Sepharose (PAS) beads and immunoprecipitation of ribonucleoproteins (RNPs)
  • chilled lysis buffer for the isolation of single nuclei from mice kidney

Features and Benefits

  • Geologically stable
  • Suitable for purification, precipitation, and crystallization

Multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii isolates, particularly those that produce carbapenemases, are increasingly reported worldwide. The biochemically based Carba NP test, extensively validated for the detection of carbapenemase producers among Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas spp., has been modified to detect carbapenemase production in

The mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway integrates multiple signals and regulates crucial cell functions via the molecular complexes mTORC1 and mTORC2. These complexes are functionally dependent on their raptor (mTORC1) or rictor (mTORC2) subunits. mTOR has been associated with

In this study, we investigated the role of inositol polyphosphate-4-phosphatase, type-II (INPP4B) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We observed that AML patients with high levels of INPP4B (INPP4B(high)) had poor response to induction therapy, shorter event-free survival and shorter overall
