Human TRIT1 is a tRNA isopentenyltransferase (IPTase) homologue of Escherichia coli MiaA, Saccharomyces cerevisiae Mod5, Schizosaccharomyces pombe Tit1, and Caenorhabditis elegans GRO-1 that adds isopentenyl groups to adenosine 37 (i6A37) of substrate tRNAs. Prior studies indicate that i6A37 increases translation

Collective cell migration drives tissue remodeling during development, wound repair, and metastatic invasion. The physical mechanisms by which cells move cohesively through dense three-dimensional (3D) extracellular matrix (ECM) remain incompletely understood. Here, we show directly that migration of multicellular cohorts

Questions

1–8 of 8 Questions
  1. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1 answer
    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  2. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1 answer
    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. For more information, please refer to the Storage and Transport Conditions document: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/marketing/global/documents/316/622/storage-transport-conditions-mk.pdf

  3. Is this product suitable for cell culture? What is the difference between this product and S5261? Are both suitable for the cell?

    1 answer
    1. Product 214485 has not been tested for cell culture applications. The suitability would need to be determined by the end-user. However, product S5261 is tested for cell culture applications.

Please see the link below to review the S5261 product datasheet as well as a sample Certificates of Analysis for each item.

  4. If I am freezing my stock solutions of sodium selenite (in solution), how long are they stable for at -20°C / what is the shelf life at  -20°C once in solution?

    1 answer
    1. Unfortunately, stability studies at -20°C have not been conducted. Stock solutions are quite stable when stored refrigerated. Media supplements containing selenite, such as ITS (I3146), are stored at 2 - 8 °C and offer a 2 year shelf life. This should apply to the single component sodium selenite solution, as well. It is unknown if the freeze/thaw process may cause some precipitation. If the stock solution has already been frozen, thaw slowly overnight in the refrigerator to minimize this possibility.
Please see the link below to review a sample Certificate of Analysis for the ITS supplement I3146.
