General description

Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards. Methanol is a widely used polar organic solvent in chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology. It is a common solvent in HPLC and mass spectrometry (MS) of small molecules and of biomolecules such as oligonucleotides and proteins. Methanol is also utilized in high performance capillary electrophoresis. Industrial applications of methanol include the manufacture of formaldehyde and methyl esters of organic and inorganic acids. Methanol is used as a solvent and solvent adjuvant for polymers, and as a softening agent for pyroxylin plastics.

Application

These Secondary Standards are qualified as Certified Reference Materials. These are suitable for use in several analytical applications including but not limited to pharma release testing, pharma method development for qualitative and quantitative analyses, food and beverage quality control testing, and other calibration requirements.

Macrophages populate the steady-state myocardium. Previously, all macrophages were thought to arise from monocytes; however, it emerged that, in several organs, tissue-resident macrophages may self-maintain through local proliferation. Our aim was to study the contribution of monocytes to cardiac-resident macrophages
