General description

Meso-1,2-Bis(4-methoxyphenyl)ethylenediamine is the most favourable fluorogenic reagent for reducing carbohydrates, including 2- deoxy sugars, amino sugars and sialic acids. It can perform fluorometric determination of reducing carbohydrates at concentration as low as 0.2-0.9 nmol ml-1.[1]

Other Notes

Reagent for the quantitative, sensitive detection of catecholamines and reducing sugars by HPLC with fluorescent detection (ex. 275 nm, em. 320 nm)[2][3][4]
