General description

1-Octadecene is a long-chain hydrocarbon used in the synthesis of nanoparticles as a capping and reducing agent.

Application

1-Octadecene has been commonly used as a non-coordinating solvent for growing nanoparticles and quantum dots due to its high boiling point. The 1-octadecene monolayer is a promising passivating coating in nanoelectronics due to its stability and chemical protection against oxidation, effects of acids and bases without altering the properties.

Other Notes

Contains 2-octyl-1-decene, n-octadecane, 2-butyl-1-tetradecene, 2-hexyl-1-dodecene

All-inorganic CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, and I) perovskite quantum dots (PeQDs) have shown great promise in optoelectronics and photovoltaics owing to their outstanding linear optical properties; however, nonlinear upconversion is limited by the small cross-section of multiphoton absorption, necessitating high power
