General description

Monoclonal Anti-Nectin-4/PVRL4 (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the hybridoma R2.525.2 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with human nectin4-Fc recombinant protein. Nectin-4 belongs to the family of Nectins. It forms homo-cis-dimers and then homo- or hetero-trans-dimers through the extracellular region in a Ca2+-independent manner. Nectin-4 is expressed in placenta, ductal breast carcinoma and lung adenocarcinomas. It is one of the plasma membrane components of adherens junctions.

Immunogen

human Nectin4/Fc recombinant protein

Application

Monoclonal Anti-PVRL4 antibody produced in mouse has been used in immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Nectin-4 is involved in cell adhesion through trans homophilic and heterophilic interactions. Mutations in this gene are associated with ectodermal dysplasia-syndactyly syndrome type 1.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Nectins form a family of integral molecules that belong to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Their ectodomain is made of three Ig-like domains (V, C, C). This family comprises at least five members, namely nectin1, -2, -3, -4, and poliovirus receptor (PVR)

Ectodermal dysplasias form a large disease family with more than 200 members. The combination of hair and tooth abnormalities, alopecia, and cutaneous syndactyly is characteristic of ectodermal dysplasia-syndactyly syndrome (EDSS). We used a homozygosity mapping approach to map the EDSS
