IER2 is an immediate early response gene that regulates FGF signaling and patterning in zebrafish. It is also known to enhance tumor cell invasion, and hence functions as a prognostic marker for colorectal cancer. Rabbit Anti-IER2 antibody recognizes human IER2.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human IER2
Application
Rabbit Anti-IER2 antibody can be used for western blot applications at a concentration of 1 μg/ml. It can also be used for IHC applications at 4-8 μg/ml, using paraffin-embedded tissues.
Sequence
Synthetic peptide located within the following region: LYLSAKVEALEPEVSLPAALPSDPRLHPPREAESTAETATPDGEHPFPEP
Physical form
Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

Establishment of left-right asymmetry in vertebrates requires nodal, Wnt-PCP and FGF signaling and involves ciliogenesis in a laterality organ. Effector genes through which FGF signaling affects laterality have not been described. We isolated the zebrafish ier2 and fibp1 genes as
Here, we report unbiased screens for genes expressed in metastatic tumor cells that are associated with cell motility. These screens identified Ier2, an immediate early gene of unknown function, as potentially having a role in tumor cell motility and metastasis.
