General description

The Auto2D® 2-D Electrophoresis Device automates two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. The applied sample enters the first-dimension gel passively, separating proteins by their isoelectric points. After equilibration, the first-dimension gel is set onto a horizontal SDS-PAGE gel, which resolves proteins by molecular weight.

Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis has generally been regarded as difficult to perform and time-consuming, requireing advanced user training while offering low reproducibility and high inter-operator variability.

Application

  • Differential proteomic analysis
  • Post-translational modification
  • Protein Isoforms
  • Western Blotting

Features and Benefits

Auto2D® 2-D Electrophoresis Device is user-friendly and enable two-dimensional electrophoresis in 1-2 hours for faster, more reproducible results.

  • Fully automated to eliminate tedious handling steps
  • Fast results in 1-2 hours
  • High reproducibility
  • Easy to use, with no advanced training required
  • Lower inter-operator variability

Questions

1–2 of 2 Questions
  1. How much is the appropriate sample amount?

    1 answer
    1. The sample amount depends on the detection method. The recommended sample amounts are as follows;
CBB staining: 25 µg or more
Fluorescent staining: 25 µg or less
Silver Staining: 10 µg or less
Fluorescent pre-labeling: 3 µg or less
