The Envirocheck is a semi-quantitative step.
The colonies should be counted on both sides of the paddle – results should not differ by a factor greater than 2. Always go with the higher
counts in case they are not identical on both sides. This represents the microbial load for the test.
For surface testing:
The colony count on each agar side can be calculated into CFU per cm² as follows:
CFU (actual count) / 9.4 cm² = CFU/ cm²
For liquid testing:
The results can be obtained by comparison to the density chart shown in the technical datasheets. You will obtain results in CFU/ml.
It's an order of magnitude.
