Robotically assisted cardiac surgery is an alternative to conventional, open-chest surgery. Although studies have been done on the clinical effect, morbidity, and mortality of robotically assisted atrial myxoma excision, few have addressed surgical outcomes, such as pain, quality of life
Multicapillary column ion-mobility spectrometry (MCC-IMS) may identify volatile components in exhaled gas. The authors therefore used MCC-IMS to evaluate exhaled gas in a rat model of sepsis, inflammation, and hemorrhagic shock. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were anesthetized and ventilated via tracheostomy
Despite recent progress in preparing numerous types of nanosheets, it remains a difficult challenge to assemble the tiny building blocks into functional macroscale architectures suitable for practical applications. Here we introduce a diffusion driven layer-by-layer assembly process and demonstrate its
Repair of DNA breaks by single-strand annealing (SSA) is a major mechanism for the maintenance of genomic integrity. SSA is promoted by proteins (single-strand-annealing proteins [SSAPs]), such as eukaryotic RAD52 and λ phage Redβ. These proteins use a short single-stranded
Funding received from Cousin Biotech, Wervicq Sud, France, and CR Bard Inc., Cranston, RI. The aim of this prospective randomized study was to determine the long-term recurrence and complication rates after small abdominal wall hernia repair with two different bilayer
How would I go about diluting this powder in order to spread out the individual beads? Obviously, I cannot use water as PTFE is hydrophobic. Will ethanol work?

There are no known solvents which could dilute PTFE at room temperature. The surface of PTFE at room temperature is affected only by molten alkali and fluorine in some cases, this will result in dissolving PTFE but not diluting. There are commercially available PTFE aqueous dispersions available. These commercial grade products utilize non-ionic surfactants to maintain dispersion.
