General description
DIG Easy Hyb™ is a hybridization solution used for nucleic acid blots with digoxigenin-labeled probes. DIG Easy Hyb does not contain formamide but facilitates the lowering of hybridization temperature comparable to buffers that contain 50% formamide.
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product is designed as a safer chemical. The DIG System was established as a sensitive and cost-effective alternative to using radioactivity for the labeling and detection of nucleic acids. There are many available publications that prove the versatility of the DIG System, so use of radio-labeling is no longer the only option for labeling of DNA for hybridization.
Application
DIG Easy Hyb Granules can be used in all membrane hybridization applications using nonradioactive (e.g., digoxigenin-labeled) nucleic acid probes. It is specifically designed for use with DIG kits.
Features and Benefits
- DIG Easy Hyb™ is a convenient ready-to-use hybridization buffer, saving time and effort.
- DIG Easy Hyb aligns with the principles of Green Chemistry by offering a greener alternative for hybridization buffers.
Preparation Note
Working solution: Add carefully 64 ml sterile double-dist. water to the plastic bottle, dissolve by stirring immediately for 5 minutes at 37 °C. The availability of 6 x 100 ml portions allows you to freshly "produce" the DIG Easy Hyb when required—no long-term storage of a solution is required.
Note: For applications with Northern blots, DIG Easy Hyb Granules must be dissolved under RNase-free conditions.
Note: For applications with Northern blots, DIG Easy Hyb Granules must be dissolved under RNase-free conditions.
Nontoxic granules, aliquoted in plastic bottles. Reconstitute to provide 100ml of a 1x solution, ready-to-use.
Other Notes
For life science research only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
