General description

Cu is present in +1 (cuprous) valence state in CuCl. CuCl is a semiconductor having a wide band gap. It is a promising candidate for use in silicon-based optoelectronics since its lattice resembles with silicon. It participates in various reactions with Grignard reagents.

Application

Copper(I) chloride (CuCl) has been used in the synthesis of copper nanoring structures. It has also been used as a precursor for the fabrication of ordered array of TiO2 nanoparticles on the conductive nitrogen-doped graphene (NG).
Shows unique character as an initiator of radical reactions such as the hydrostannation of α,β-unsaturated ketones.

This study investigates the adsorption of a block copolymer composed of a poly(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate) (PDMAEMA) cationic polyelectrolyte and a poly(di(ethylene glycol) methyl ethermethacrylate) (PDEGMA) on oxidized cellulose nanocrystals (TO-CNCs) to produce hydrogels. PDMEAMA- b-PDEGMA was synthesized by atom-transfer radical polymerization.

It has long been a challenge to dope metal nanoparticles with a specific number of heterometal atoms at specific positions. This becomes even more challenging if the heterometal belongs to the same group as the host metal because of the
