General description

Ascentis® Express 2 μm RP-Amide is a high-speed, high-performance liquid chromatography column based on a new Fused-Core® particle design. The fused core partical provides a thin porous shell of high-purity silica surrounding a solid silica core. This particle design exhibits very high column efficiency due to the shallow diffusion paths in the 0.4 micron thick porous shell and the small overall particle size of 2-microns. The one-step bonded, end-capped, amide-based polar-embedded stationary phase of Ascentis Express 2 μm RP-Amide provides, a stable, reversed phase packing with decreased hydrophobic character. Ascentis Express 2 μm RP-Amide can be used for basic, acidic, or neutral compounds with orthogonal selectivity from C18 or C8.

Application

  • A validated UHPLC method for the determination of caffeoylquinic and di-caffeoylquinic acids in green coffee extracts using an RP-Amide fused-core column.: This study demonstrates the application of the Ascentis® Express RP-Amide, 2 μm UHPLC Column for analyzing complex mixtures of caffeoylquinic and di-caffeoylquinic acids in green coffee extracts. The developed method was validated for precision, accuracy, and robustness, showing significant improvement in separation efficiency and analysis time compared to conventional columns. This method is particularly valuable for researchers focusing on phytochemical analysis and natural product chemistry (Fibigr et al., 2018).
