General description

The NanoFabTxPEG-PEI for gene delivery has been developed for the synthesis of PEG-PEI polyplex nanoparticles for use in oligonucleotide, nucleic acid, and other gene delivery applications. The PEG-PEI cationic copolymer combines the unique properties of both polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polyethylenimine (PEI), resulting in a versatile and efficient delivery platform. The PEG component provides excellent biocompatibility and stability, while the branched PEI component offers superior drug encapsulation and controlled release capabilities.

Application

With the NanoFabTx(TM) PEG-PEI, researchers can simplify their drug development workflow. The ready to use polymer enables the screening of different drug modalities such as oligonucleotides, nucleic acids (mRNA, DNA, siRNA), and vaccines without the need to develop new drug delivery formulations from scratch, ultimately speeding up the time it takes for innovative therapeutics to go from the bench to the clinic. PEG-coupled PEI has been used in many drug delivery applications and has been found to improve the stability, prevent aggregation, decrease interactions with serum proteins thus improving circulation times, and enhance gene transfection. Here, the NanoFabTx PEG-PEI has been optimized to suit your gene delivery needs by offering superior mRNA complexation, polyplex size, and cell viability. A step by step protocol is can be located under the “More Documents” section of this page and provide detailed guidance on how to use the NanoFabTx PEG-PEI for gene delivery.

Features and Benefits

  • A PEG-PEI polymer curated and tested for gene delivery
  • The NanoFabTxPEG-PEI can be used to create polyplex nanoparticles with a variety of nucleic acids and other drug modalities
  • The step-by-step protocol provides detailed instructions on synthesizing and characterizing mRNA polyplexes
  • Reproducible polyplexes can be synthesized in a variety of sizes between 70nm-150nm by altering key parameters such as N/P ratio
  • The nucleic acid-encapsulated polyplex nanoparticles created using the NanoFabTx PEG-PEI result in high in vitro transfection efficiency and high cell viability in HeLa and HEK293 cell lines
