General description

Tedlar is recommended in several US EPA methods for sampling VOCs and sulfur compounds. Our Tedlar is made from a high-quality 2 mil Tedlar film for superior inertness, impermeability, sample integrity and good recovery data. Our Push Lock Valve (PLV) and seam-sealing process ensure that these bags are sturdy and virtually leak-proof, even under the most demanding sampling and shipping conditions.

Application

Tedlar bags can be used to contain air containing arsines, during determination of atmospheric stability of arsines.[1]

Questions

1–7 of 7 Questions
  1. About TedlarGasSamplingBag(1L), do you have appropriate PVC tube (3/16" ID) or any kind of tube to connect the bag to sampling point? General one is very slightly wider than nozzle on it.

    1 answer
    1. The PVC laboratory tubing that has an (I.D.) of 3/16" is Product Z280364-1PAK. However, it must be noted that the polypropylene valve stem is 3/16" in outside diameter (O.D.) which means that the recommended tubing must have 1/4" (I.D.) which is Product Z280372-1PAK.

  2. For 24633 product, what is the maximum temperature and pressure the bag can withstand? and is it in transparent form?

    1 answer
    1. Tedlar® films are rated for continuous use from -72°C to 107°C (-98°F to 225°F). This Tedlar® PVDF film is transparent. The Tedlar film has a tensile strength of 8000 psi while the recommended fill pressure is 17.7 psi. The maximum fill volume should be limited to 75 - 80 % to allow for pressure changes.

      Helpful?

  3. Is there any recommendation regarding how often the septum can be pierced with a needle for removal of gas, until the septum loses its integrity?

    1 answer
    1. The septum is located at the base flange of the valve with the bag film below. The septum does not come into contact with the sample. The septum allows repeated punctures with syringes without leakage. The number of times the fluoropolymer septum may be punctured before it loses its integrity had not been determined. A small guage needle should assure maximum life of the septum.

  4. What size of tubing can I use with Product 24633, Tedlar® Gas Sampling Bag?

    1 answer
    1. The polypropylene valve stem is 3/16 inch outside diameter (o.d.) making it suitable for use with most 1/4 inch o.d. tubing.
