Cluster of differentiation 28 (CD28) antigen is a co-stimulatory receptor expressed in naive T-cells. It contains a short cytoplasmic tail and two proline-rich motifs.
Immunogen
Peptide with sequence KEKHLCHTQSSPK, from the internal region of the protein sequence according to NP_031668.3
Biochem/physiol Actions
Cluster of differentiation 28 (CD28) antigen has a role in T-cell activation, proliferation, survival and function. It modulates thymic development, peripheral homeostasis and the suppressive functions of regulatory T cells. CD28 has a role in signal transduction and is involved in activating many adaptor proteins.
