  1. How do I interpret the :"≥42% K2S basis" purity? Is the remaining 58% an unknown distribution of polysulfides and sulfur or is there also an unknown quantity of water?

The remaining 58% primarily consists of polysulfides and sulfur, with a smaller amount of water present. Thus, the majority of the remaining composition is likely polysulfides and sulfur, while water constitutes a minority portion.

  2. My laboratory has bought this Potassium (poly)sulfide to form an electrolite to be used in nanoparticle based solar cells. I can’t find a way to make such a solution in papers. Previously this solution had been done with 0.5M Na2S and 0.1M S.

    1. Unfortunately, the solubility of this product is not tested. There are some references papers regarding the preparation of potassium (poly)sulfide electrolyte for batteries that may be helpful:
