Yes, the Hemacolor reagents are suitable for use with samples anticoagulated with EDTA. If the sample is not anticoagulated, the smears must be made immediately upon the blood being drawn. These reagents are not suitable for use with samples anticoagulated with heparin or sodium citrate. Smears should be prepared from fresh samples when prepared from anticoagulated blood with EDTA.

General description
The package is sufficient for 1250 - 5000 applications. The buffer tablets acc. to Weise pH 7.2 (Cat no. 109468) are also available in larger pack sizes, thus, they can be useful for higher demands. The three solutions needed for staining are all available individually as:

Hemacolor® Rapid staining of blood smear solution 2, colour reagent red (Product number 1.11956)
Hemacolor® Rapid staining of blood smear solution 3, colour reagent blue (Product number 1.11957)
