Application

The Herringbone Mixer Fluidic 187 PC microfluidic chip applies passive mixing principles and a herringbone structure to improve mixing. As flows in microchannels are normally laminar, this mixer improves diffusion by adding herringbone structures to the bottom of the mixing channel.

  • The herringbone structure improves mixing by increasing lateral velocity
  • Three micromixing units per chip
  • Each unit features two inlets and one outlet
  • The multiple mixing units can be daisy-chained to further improve mixing

    1. The plug and tubing accessories for this chip are :

      922250-1EA, Male luer plug, Fluidic 270 to be placed in channels not in use to close them.
      922218-1EA, Male luer plug, Fluidic 263 to connect tubing
      Z609706-1PAK, PTFE tube, I.D. × O.D. 0.5 mm × 1.0 mm, L 10 m
      For the "silicone sleeve" used to connect the tubes, Fluidic technicians suggest the dimensions ID: 0.76, OD: 1.65 mm.
      A silicone hose is unavailable, however a PTFE option is available. See product 58700-U, L × O.D. × I.D. 10 ft × 1/16 in. × 0.031 in. (L: 3m, ID: 0.79mm, OD: 1.59mm)
