Histones play a critical role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and developmental events. Histone acetylation/deacetylation alters chromosome structure and affects transcription factor access to DNA. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to class II of the histone deacetylase/acuc/apha family. It contains an internal duplication of two catalytic domains which appear to function independently of each other. This protein possesses histone deacetylase activity and represses transcription. Immunogen
HDAC6 (NP_006035, 1128 a.a. ~ 1215 a.a) partial recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa.
Histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) deacetylates substrates like α-tubulin. It is involved in endocytosis and autophagy. HDAC6 functions in cellular mechanisms connected to cancer and modulates cell motility.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4
