Kinectin (KTN1) protein is mainly located in the endoplasmic (ER) reticulum and is a large integral protein. This protein is made up of an N-terminal transmembrane domain and a C-terminal kinesin-binding domain. The KTN1 gene is mapped on the human chromosome at 14q22.3.
Specificity
Anti-KTN1 recognizes human KTN1.
Application
Anti-KTN1 antibody produced in rabbit may be used in:
immunoblotting
immunoprecipitation
immunofluorescence
Biochem/physiol Actions
Kinectin (KTN1) protein coheres to kinesin and is involved in vesicle transport on microtubules. This protein is also related to fibronectin-integrin adhesion sites.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
Storage and Stability
Store at at –20 °C. For continuous use, the product may be stored at 2–8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots at –20 °C. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.

Integrin receptors mediate the formation of adhesion complexes and play important roles in signal transduction from the extracellular matrix. Integrin-based adhesion complexes (IAC) contain proteins that link integrins to the cytoskeleton and recruit signaling molecules, including vinculin, paxillin, focal adhesion
The highly complex structure of the human brain is strongly shaped by genetic influences. Subcortical brain regions form circuits with cortical areas to coordinate movement, learning, memory and motivation, and altered circuits can lead to abnormal behaviour and disease. To
