Cell Line Description
The hybridoma U28 was obtained by fusing SP2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice that had been given repeated intranasal infection with a single i.v. injection before fusion. The antibody binds murine IgG2a of "a" allotype and the Fc region. There is no cross reactivity with A/PR/8/34 influenza virus, DNP, NP or DNA cytoskeletal proteins. Contains a CH2 domain.

Differential detection of complexed IgG2a in the presence of native IgG2a, allotype detection or quantification
Culture Medium
RPMI 1640 + 2mM glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS)
Subculture Routine
Maintain cultures between 3-9x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C
