Adenine hemisulfate salt is used as a component of minimal medium and yeast extract dextrose, peptone and adenine (YPAD) medium component for culturing yeast.

Application

Adenine hemisulfate salt has been used as a component of medium D and medium SP for protoplast culture
Adenine may be used as a plant cell culture additive. Adenine Sulphate (25mg/L) in the culture media such as Murashige & Skoog media improves the frequency of multiple shoot production and recovered the chlorotic symptoms of the leaves.
