General description

HybriScan Washing Solution is designed to be used with the HybriScan detection system. The HybriScan system is based on the detection of microbe-specific rRNA using sandwich hybridization. The signal read-out is triggered optically by an enzymatically-generated color change. The results are available within 2 hours of testing with a pre-enrichment step. Sandwich hybridization provides sensitivity in crude biological samples because it is not susceptible to matrix interference. By using specific probes, the HybriScan system allows both genus and species-specific detection. The wash solution is used to remove any unbound molecules like probes and enzymes before the enzyme-substrate reaction.

Application

HybriScan Washing Solution is used with the HybriScan microbial detection system based on sandwich hybridization in many analytical fields, including monitoring the microbial content of beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, drinking water, a wide variety of foods, and wastewater.
