General description

Bronopol is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent. It is mostly used as a preservative in cosmetic, toiletry etc. It is also used in aerosol formulations.1

Application

Bronopol has been used as reference standard in ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) coupled to inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (UPLC-ICP-MS) method for determination of bromine containing preservatives from cosmetic products.[1]
