Gene Information

General description

WIF1, also known as Wnt inhibitory factor 1 or WIF-1, is a secreted protein that binds to Wnt proteins and inhibits their activity. WNT proteins have been shown to act as an extracellular signaling molecules and may be involved in the control of embryonic development. WIf1 contains an N-terminal WIF domain and 5 epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like domains. It has been implied in recent sutyes that WIF1 expression is downregulated in many types of cancers.

Immunogen

Purified recombinant fragment of human WIF1 expressed in E. Coli.

Application

Anti-WIF1 Antibody, clone 1G5 is a highly specific mouse monoclonal antibody, that targets Wnt inhibitory factor 1 & has been tested in western blotting, IHC & Immunofluorescence.
Immunofluorescence Analysis: A 1:200-1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected WIF1 in HeLa cells.

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:200-1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected WIF1 in human ovarian tumor and lung cancer tissues.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.
