General description

Diethylene glycol is widely used as a solvent and ingredient for many consumer products like antifreeze preparations, wallpaper strippers, brake fluids, and artificial fog solutions.[1]

Application

Diethylene glycol can be used:
  • To improve the digital inkjet printability of dye solutions on cotton fabrics.[2]
  • As a humectant in the pigment ink formulation applicable in inkjet printing.[3]
  • As a solvent in the synthesis of Bi2S3 nanorod applicable as a direct band-gap semiconductor in thermoelectric devices, photoelectric devices.[4]
