General description

Beclin-1 (267-284), a randomly shuffled peptideis made cell-permeable by attaching covalently to a human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-1 Tat protein transduction domain via a diglycine linker. Beclin-1activating peptide I, TAT-Beclin-1, is observed to promote autophagy invitro and in vivo in pharmacological research.
