General description

A stable-labeled internal standard suitable for quantitation of 1,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 levels by LC-MS/MS. 1,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3, also known as calcitriol, is a hormonally active metabolite of vitamin D responsible for regulating calcium. Measurement of 1,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 is used to distinguish some cases of primary hyperparathyroidism from hypercalcemia of cancer and for the differential diagnosis of vitamin D-dependent rickets.

Application

  • Leigh Syndrome with HIBCH Mutations: Discusses the metabolic effects of mutations related to Leigh syndrome and includes information on 3-hydroxybutyryl carnitine isomers (Wang et al., 2021, frontiersin.org).

  • Highly Efficient Ketone Body Treatment in Leukodystrophy: Highlights the therapeutic potential of L-carnitine in treatments, specifically focusing on the metabolism of L-3-hydroxybutyryl-CoA in the context of fatty acid β-oxidation disorders (Gautschi et al., 2015, nature.com).

Cyclodextrins are sugar compounds that are increasingly finding medicinal uses due to their ability to complex with hydrophobic molecules. One cyclodextrin in particular, 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HPβCD), is used as a carrier to solubilize lipophilic drugs and is itself being considered as

The aberrant hedgehog (Hh) pathway plays important roles in multiple cancer types, therefore serving as a promising drug target. Current clinically available hedgehog-targeted drugs act mostly by antagonizing the upstream component smoothened; however, both primary and acquired resistance to FDA-approved

RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are essential modulators of transcription and translation frequently dysregulated in cancer. We systematically interrogated RBP dependencies in human cancers using a comprehensive CRISPR/Cas9 domain-focused screen targeting RNA-binding domains of 490 classical RBPs. This uncovered a network of
