General description

  • Polymer architecture: Dendron
  • End Group Functionality: Carboxylic acid
  • Bis-MPA : 2,2-Bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid

Application

Bis-MPA dendritic molecules are based on 2,2-bismethylolpropionicacid (bis-MPA) building blocks. The hydrolysable linkers presented in this type of polymers allows their degradation into byproducts that can be reabsorbed by the body or into excretable non-toxic small molecules. Therefore, this group of dendritic polymers are biocompatible and biodegradable, making them suitable for biomedical applications. The carboxylic acid-functionalized corona and biotin-functionalized core of this product can be readily used in bioconjugation reactions.
