General description

Anti-Collagen XII α1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Collagen XII α1 protein.
Collagen XII α1 belongs to the FACIT collagens (fibril-associated collagens with interrupted triple helices) family. It codes for the alpha chain of type XII collagen. It is located on human chromosome 6q13.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Collagen XII alpha1.

Immunogen Range: 1481-1530

Application

Anti-Collagen XII α1 antibody has been used in immunohistochemistry.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Collagen XII α1 participates in a benign bone tumor, subungual exostosis. Collagen XII organize the collagen fibrils and thereby preserves the bone and muscle integrity. Mutations in collagen XII results in Ehlers–Danlos/myopathy overlap syndrome.
