General description

Amberlite IR120 is a gel-type strongly acidic cation exchange resin and a heterogeneous catalyst.

Application

Amberlite IR120 has been used as a catalyst support to form chelates with Co2+ or Ru3+ ions for subsequent hydrogen generation by hydrolysis of ammonia borane. It may be used as a catalyst for the oxirane ring-opening reaction effected by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) during the synthesis of epoxides from triglycerides source. Amberlite IR120 hydrogen form may be used to investigate the ion-exchange equilibria of H+/Pb2+, H+/Ni2+, and H+/Cr3+ systems.
Strongly acidic cation exchange resin suitable for a wide variety of chemical process applications, removal of amino acids at low pH, USP potassium methods, etc..
