Application

Bromopentacarbonylmanganese(I) can be used as:
  • A precursor to synthesize manganese complex, [Mn(CO)5H], which was then used as a catalyst in the reduction of levulinic acid (LA) to methyltetrahydrofuran (MTHF) and the reductive amination of LA to N-substituted pyrrolidines.
  • A precursor to prepare Mn(I) complexes bearing bifunctional ligands, which are used as catalysts for the transfer-hydrogenation of various ketones and imines using 2-propanol as the hydrogen donor.
  • A catalyst in the selective C2-H activation reactions.
