Succinate receptor 1 (UniProt: Q9BXA5; also known as G-protein coupled receptor 91, P2Y purinoceptor 1-like) is encoded by the SUCNR1 (also known as GPR91) gene (Gene ID: 56670) in human. Succinate receptor is a multi-pass membrane glycoprotein that belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor family with seven transmembrane domains. It serves as a receptor for succinate. SUCNR1 intracellular signaling is depended on the associated subunit type (G i, G s, and G q). Its expression is observed in kidney. Within the adaptive immune system, it has been detected in CD4+ and CD8+ T cells and in all subsets of B cells.
