While not strictly necessary, running samples in duplicate is strongly recommended to assess result consistency. If a sample yields unexpected results, duplicate measurements help determine whether the result is an isolated measurement or reproducible. For pilot or screening tests aimed at assessing sample compatibility or dilution ranges, single runs are acceptable, as these are not intended as final results.

Running in duplicate means you only get 16 samples per 96 well plate (6 wells per sample are used). Each kit only does 100 tests so largely one 96 well plate. How necessary is it to run all in duplicate?

How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?
1 answer-
If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

According to the instructions, is it supposed to add 10 uL of sample (or diluted sample) to each of the 3 wells (blank, sample and sample standard)? If so, why you then add 10 uL of water/standard to the respective well, and nothing to the sample well?
1 answer-
10 µL of sample is added to each of the three wells (blank, sample, and internal standard). Following that step, 10 µL of ultrapure water is added to the sample blank and sample wells, while 10 µL of standard is added to the internal standard well. This ensures that the volumes are equivalent across the wells.

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?
1 answer-
Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. What is the purpose of acidifying the samples for longer-term storage?
1 answer-
Acidification of urine samples is necessary for longer-term storage. Oxalate demonstrates greater solubility under acidic conditions. Additionally, ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) in urine samples rapidly degrades into oxalate in non-acidified samples, so acidifying urine should help to prevent this. Given that the Working Reagent used in this assay is acidic, acidifying fresh samples prior to the assay should not be necessary.

What is the approximate expiration time for these kits?
1 answer-
Expiration dating is batch specific and should be determined from the lot specific Certificate of Analysis. Please review your batch specific Certificate of Analysis by searching your lot number in the DOCUMENTATION section of the Product Detail Page:
