SMAD proteins are transcription regulators that mediate multiple signal transduction pathways. They are involved in a wide variety of cellular processes such as cell growth, apoptosis, survival, differentiation, morphogenesis and immune responses.[1] SMAD1 interacts with PAWS1/FAM83G protein and regulates bone morphogenetic protein signaling.[2]
