How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. For how long should you store L-DOPA after elution?

As a neat material stored at a refrigerated temperature and protected from light, levodopa is stable for at least 3 years. Levodopa is not stable in solution for long durations. According to peer-reviewed literature, levodopa degrades significantly in solution at ambient temperature over the course of 48 hours. The addition of a reducing agent such as ascorbate can prolong solution stability up to 72 hours. Refrigeration or freezing of the solution can significantly reduce levodopa degradation for up to 7 days. In general, it is recommended to prepare a solution of levodopa the day it is needed.

It is soluble in water (3 mg/ml), DMSO (<1 mg/ml at 25° C), and 0.5M HCl (50 mg/ml).
