Metconazole is a lipophilic broad-spectrum triazole fungicide that inhibits ergosterol biosynthesis by interfering with the activity of C14-demethylase. A systemic fungicide, it is used to control foliar diseases, such as Fusarium, Septoria, and rust in cereals and soybeans and foliar diseases in oilseed rape and maize.
According to the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 540/2011 of 25th May 2011, metconazole is approved for use in the European Union (EU) as a plant protection agent, following the Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009. Maximum residue levels (MRLs) of 0.02 mg/kg to 0.1 mg/kg has been set for its presence in products of plant and animal origin, according to the EU Reg. No 2016/1902.
Application
Metconazole CRM may also be used as given below:
- Development of a chiral method for the stereoselective analysis of metconazole in soil and flour matrices using a modified QuEChERS procedure for sample pre-treatment followed by HPLC determination
- Multi-residue analysis of 213 pesticides in edible oil samples using an analytical approach combining QuEChERS methodology with gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS)
- Trace analysis of 160 pesticides in 50 honeybee wax combs samples by gas chromatography combined with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry for quantitation, following a QuEChERS-based method for extraction
- Determination of 34 pesticide residues in environmental water samples collected from various sources using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) after dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) of the samples
- Simultaneous analysis of 310 pesticide residues in brown rice, orange, and spinach samples using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) coupled with a modified QuEChERS
- Development and validation of a nanoflow liquid chromatographic-high resolution mass spectrometric (nanoflow LC/ESI Q-Orbitrap-MS) procedure for the multiclass analysis of 162 pesticides in olive oil samples
