Description

General description

Fem-1 homolog C (FEM1C) is a homolog of the Fem-1 gene of Caenorhabditis elegans. It is predicted to encode an ankyrin repeat proteins which is expressed in many tissues. FEM1C is a conserved VHL-box protein. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 5q22.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Fem-1 homolog C (FEM1C) is a substrate recognition subunit of cullin-2-RING E3 ubiquitin ligase complex. It has a role in the degradation of stem-loop binding protein (SLBP).
