General description

Anti-AOP1 (antioxidant-like protein 1) antibody, mouse monoclonal, (antioxidantlike protein 1) (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the AOP-38 hybridoma produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide of human Aop1, conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanine (KLH). Aop1 (antioxidant-like protein 1, also called MER5, M.W. 25 kDa).
Antioxidant-like Protein 1 (AOP1) belongs to a protein family that may regulate oxidative stress defense.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to C-terminal amino acids 236-256 of human Aop1, conjugated to KLH.

Application

AOP1 expression in cells isolated from human saliva was analyzed by western blot using mouse monoclonal anti-AOP1 antibody (A7674) at a 1:10000 dilution.
Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below.
Immunohistochemistry (1 paper)
Western Blotting (1 paper)
Mouse monoclonal anti-AOP1 antibody can be used for indirect ELISA and microarray applications.

Biochem/physiol Actions

AOP1 (antioxidant-like protein 1) is also proposed to be involved in the synthesis of glucosinolate. It defends oxidative stress and participates in proliferation and differentiation through antioxidant function and redox regulation. Monoclonal antibodies reacting specifically with Aop1 are useful tools for the determination of the functional activity of Aop1.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
