General description

Methanol is a primary alcohol, which is commercially manufactured from methane. It can also be obtained via pyrolysis of wood. It can find applications in organic synthesis reactions, as a highly polar solvent.
This substance is listed on the positive list of the EU regulation 10/2011 for plastics intended to come into contact with food.

Application

Methanol may be used as an analytical standard for the determination of the analyte content in biodiesel, wine, and biological fluids by gas chromatography (GC) technique. It can also be used as a solvent/eluent for the preparation of various standard solutions and the extraction of analytes for their subsequent determination using analytical techniques.
Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.
