General description

Harpagoside, a naturally occurring iridoid glycoside, is the main bioactive component of medicinal plants like Radix Scrophulariae, Scrophularia ningpoensis, Scrophularia buergeriana and Harpagophytum procumbens. It can exhibit a wide range of biological and pharmacological properties and hence used in the treatment of ailments like pharyngalgia, arthritis, rheumatism, tussis and constipation.
