General description

Monophasic solution of phenol and guanidine thiocyanate for RNA, DNA, and protein isolation.

Application

Ready-to-use reagent for the simultaneous isolation of total RNA, DNA, and proteins from cells or tissues of human, plant, yeast, bacterial, or viral origin. RNA is undegraded and free of protein or DNA contamination according to the current Quality Control. After purification, many applications are possible:
  • The DNA-free total RNA is suitable for northern blotting, in vitro translation, RNase protection assays, cDNA synthesis, or RT-PCR.
  • The RNA-free DNA is suitable for PCR, restriction digestion, Southern blotting, or cloning.
  • The denatured protein is suitable for SDS-PAGE and western blotting.

Features and Benefits

The TriPure Isolation Reagent allows the simultaneous isolation of RNA, DNA, and protein from the same sample in a single-step liquid-phase separation. RNA, DNA, and protein are separated into different organic and aqueous phases, from which each can be purified by a series of alcohol precipitations.
  • Work with an easy-to-use kit. The red dye in the reagent simplifies identification of different phases.
  • Process a wide variety of starting samples. Easily adapt the kit to your specific needs.
  • Simplify isolation protocols. Use a single reagent that isolates DNA-free RNA, RNA-free DNA, and proteins.
  • Increase yields of intact RNA. TriPure Isolation Reagent provides an immediate chaotropic denaturing environment that eliminates endogenous RNase activity.

The failure of past efforts to develop effective stroke treatments is at least partially because these treatments often interfered with essential physiological functions, even though they are targeted toward pathophysiological events, such as inflammation, excitotoxicity, and oxidative stress.
